Studies have shown that people tend to avoid putting sunscreen around their eyes for fear of stinging and burning. That’s a big mistake. It also suggests that we’re not so great at putting moisturizers, eye serums, and other topicals on our delicate eyelids. This means that some of the most vulnerable, damage-prone skin (upper and lower eyelids!) go unprotected every day. When applying pertinent topicals to the face, pay special attention to this area. It’s the first place to show signs of aging. And remember: if a topical does get in there, it’s usually nothing a little eye rinse won’t fix.
